Your wallet is not anonymous. It is a public diary with the name torn off the cover, and a billion-dollar industry whose entire job is matching the handwriting. Plain English, no jargon, things you assume are private and aren't.

Your wallet address is a lookup key, not a secret. Every transaction you have ever sent or received is sitting on a public block explorer right now, for anyone. Pseudonymous means the address is not your legal name. It does not mean the diary is locked.

Reusing one address writes your profile for you, by accident. Pay a freelancer, take a refund, buy from a P2P seller, all from the same address, and every one of them can now see the others. Address reuse is the most common way people publish their history without meaning to.

Your DEX swaps are permanent records. Input, output, amount, timestamp, confirmed, indexed, scanned by analysis firms in real time. Nobody having looked yet is not the same as private. The data is sitting there being patient.

KYC from a past exchange travels with your funds. Withdraw from a verified account to a fresh wallet and the chain of custody from your legal name to that wallet is right there on-chain. The KYC moment does not stay at the exchange. It follows the coins home.

What actually moves the needle: fresh addresses per swap, wallets separated by job, Private Mode routing through XMR or ZEC shielded for the legs that matter. Husher hands you a one-time deposit address for every swap. One fewer permanent link in the graph, for free.

Private Mode reduces linkability between your two wallets. Not anonymity, and it does not un-write KYC history from before you used it. But it removes the visible on-chain line between the two ends. You do not need a dramatic reason to want that. Wanting it is reason enough.
